The Board of the Hobe Sound Community Chest is working on some new and exciting events for the upcoming season. Please stay tuned for updates, dates will be added in the coming months.
Our tour is the best way to see how social service agencies improve the quality of Hobe Sound lives. Enjoy a brief but informative journey through local neighborhoods visiting some of the agencies that your donations support. Our 2025 tours are scheduled for:
Boys & Girls Club
11500 SE Lares Avenue
Hobe Sound, FL 33455
The children of Hobe Sound Early Learning Center are celebrating Music Together led by Ms. Jodi. This is one of the enrichment programs that the Chest has brought to the early learning centers in Hobe Sound to provide positive brain development and language acquisition.
Families in our mobile home parks have access to computer literacy classes through a generous grant from Martin County. These classes teach basic computer skills over an 8 week session. Students learn how to establish and send email, pay bills online, look for educational and community resources in addition to learning about internet safety.
We are now in our third session of classes. Over the past two session we have received great feedback! One participant mentioned, “her husband was so excited to see the newly learned computer skills that he has asked her to help with the bookkeeping for his small landscaping business.”
Another parent mentioned that they were “able to login to check their child’s grades” and how good it felt to be able to do this.
We are so excited to be able to help close the digital divide for families in Hobe Sound through programs like this.
The purpose of this event is to present the HSCC Annual Community Service Award. Representatives from all of the nearly 40 local social service agencies HSCC supports and representatives of other charitable organizations in Hobe Sound and Martin County come to this event to celebrate the work of an outstanding community servant. At the Luncheon held on April 10,2024 we recognized the outstanding work of Wendy Reynoso from the Banner Lake Club.
